Commercial Registration

Commercial Registration Renewal

Renewing the commercial registration is a periodic procedure that keeps the registration entry and the activity valid with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The application to renew the entry and the activity is submitted six months before expiry, and membership of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry is renewed three months before. Late renewal results in the registration being suspended and every transaction linked to it being blocked.

The effect of late renewal

Suspension of the registration

Late renewal results in the registration being suspended and every transaction linked to it being blocked.

An effect on work permits

Suspension of the registration carries over to transactions with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and may put existing work permits at risk.

Higher cost

The cost and the time of dealing with a suspended registration exceed what renewal on time requires.

A limited recovery window

Reactivation remains possible for up to three years from the date of suspension, after which the registration is lost for good.
