Application stages

Advertising the vacancy with the Ministry of Labour
The first step, which cannot be skipped. Registering the vacant post with the Ministry.
- 2
Accepting the employee
Completing the appointment procedures after the candidate is put forward.
- 3
Registering the employee with the Social Insurance Organisation
A step required before applying for support, and it requires the establishment to have an open social insurance file.
- 4
Applying for salary support
Submitting the application to Tamkeen once the earlier stages are complete.
Practical considerations
The cap sets the supported portion, not the salary
The salary agreed with the employee is an internal decision for the establishment, while the cap applies to the portion covered by the support.
The support tapers down
The annual fall in the rate has to be taken into account when estimating the cost of hiring over three years, rather than working from the first year alone.
The order of the stages is binding
Skipping the vacancy advertisement or the social insurance registration blocks the application.
Support is for Bahrainis only
Salary support does not cover foreign employees.
